Get to know you empire
When you enter a game the first thing you will see is the galaxy screen. This screen shows all solar systems that you know. When you begin the game you will only know the system of your home planet and the location of connected solar systems. All the red lines represent solar lanes that can be traveled. You will need those if you want your ships to travel from system to system. Also worthy to know is that arrows are drawn on lanes if a hostile ship is traveling through it. But for now enough about the lanes. At the map there is 1 system colored yellow green. This is your home system. You can view the contents of this system by clicking on the yellow-green circle.
Get to know you country
When clicked on your home system, you will see a display with all planets and objects that are in space. On the right is an overview of all planets and object. Planets that are in green are friendly to you. If they are in yellow then they are neutral and if they are in red then the owner is at war with you. The same counts for objects. The planet with the green targeting around it( and a satellite) is yours. If you click on it you will see basic data on your planet.
You can also see basic data on other planets if the system:
-Has one of your planets in it.
-Has one of your ships in it that is equipped with a sensor.
-Has an ally in it with one of the above.
System that have none of the above won't show ships either.
This is your home
When you have clicked on you home planet you will the menu with basic information on your planet. At the bottom of that menu there is a link called "show surface". This link will take you to... the surface of the planet. This view is called the planet view. Here you can view and choose what is build on your planet. The squares in the middle represents plots of land. You can build a structure on each of these plots. The size of the planet determines the amount of land.
Building the future
When you click on one of the plots, you will get a menu at the right bottom of the screen. Here you can select what you want to build on the plot. Note that if something is already constructed on the planet, demolition costs will be added. You can do this up to 8 times. After that the queue is full and you will have to wait before you can added new asignments to the queue.
Going through your empire
On the left top and right top of the planet view there are 2 buttons. These button let you "zap" through all planets that you own. This comes in handy when you have alot of planets and need to maintain them.
